At Sherwood Forresters, we take great pride in our commitment to promoting the English Longbow and it’s traditions, in order that this unique sport is kept alive across the generations.

Our courses will teach the basics of shooting, to help you begin the journey of mastering the bow. Accomplished Archers are welcome to join us, subject to shooting alongside a competent archer to verify they meet the Skills Passport standard.

The real journey begins with membership, as in seeking membership to secure the pleasure of shooting, you will also be committing, Vi et Animo (with heart and soul) to helping the club meet it’s development aims.

Beginner’s come to learn, children and their parents attend Have a go sessions in large numbers and when they come to us they need to be welcomed, orientated to safety, assisted with using equipment, as well as being taught.

Our expectation, reflected in the Skills Passport, is that members will take an active part in this aspect of our work.

It is only through active and visible work of this kind that our Club can prosper.
